The warmth of mugwort along the meridians

The heat from burning mugwort, applied to points on the meridians to strengthen the body and bring warmth where it is needed.

Lit moxa stick held close to the skin

Moxibustion is a technique based on applying heat by burning a particular dried plant, Artemisia vulgaris (mugwort).

Moxa can be used in different ways: as wool, as small cones or as a stick, or placed inside a wooden box. It warms and strengthens the body, encourages the flow of Qi (energy) along the meridians, supports digestion and helps to clear cold and dampness.

It can be used both for recent complaints and for long-standing discomfort, such as joint pain, muscle tightness and tension in the back, shoulders and neck.
